The house in the snow. This is after seven days of melt - all total we had 18 inches of snow.
Still no garage and the movers are coming Dec. 26 or 27. A muddy mess comes to mind!

The Moving Van from Hell! The driver manages to get his rig past the mud but is unable to negotiate the turns to our house. He tries to pull a fast one and tell us we are required to pay the laborers. To top it off we have to rent a truck to shuttle our belongings up the hill. If there is such a thing as Karma, the driver gets his when he tries to leave... two tractors and $600 later he is on his way. Good riddance!

After the big moving fiasco we decided to take a road trip to Georgia.
We find this delightful little eatery along the way. Yes, it is open for business.
No we didn't go in... we didn't meet the requisite biker dress code!

Free popsicles. We just broke the record for the most days under 32°

FINALLY! Four weeks later - it is now in the 50's during the day and the garage floor can be poured.

PROGRESS! The back deck is under construction...
By our next visit we hope to have railings and maybe, just maybe, a new garage!

FINALLY! WE HAVE A GARAGE! Now the electrical panel can be installed and we can move forward.
If all goes well and the weather co-operates we'll be in by Valentine's day... maybe.

Between the snow storms we had a brief respite of sunshine and FLOODING!
Yes, we are preparing for locusts and famine!

We received a call from our contractor... the workers are siding the garage today!
These pictures taken yesterday Thur. Feb. 11 - You can see the front porch and back deck are finished.
If all goes well the gas and electric will be connected by Monday and they'll call for final inspection.
God willing and the creek don't rise, we will have the Certificate of Occupancy by Wednesday.

This is what we have been waiting for. The electrical panel and the propane tank.
